Air Space

A North Korea MIG-21 jet crashed in Fushun in northeastern China, killing the pilot. The pilot reportedly may have been flying over Chinese airspace while trying to defect to Russia.

Hong Kong's constitution allows up to 20% of the seats of its 60-members legislature to be held by foreign nationals. As Hong Kong is set to add 10 more seats to the LegCo, debates broke out between mainland loyalists and businesspeople, with the latter and some lawyers arguing that there is now a right granted by Basic Law to foreigners which should not be taken away.

Macau

A US State Department report identified Macau, a major international gambling centre, as a potential site for money laundering and terrorist financing activities. Macau's reporting threshold in the gaming sector is US$62,500, much lower than the US recommendation of US$3,000.
