The US blacklisted 20 shipping companies registered in Hong Kong that are nominal owners of ships previously owned by IRISL, the state-owned Iranian shipping line under international sanctions. Hong Kong has not enacted local legislation to give effect to the UN sanctions adopted in June 2010.
